Overview of BW on SAP HANA migrations from anyDB: Preparation in BW system, SUM DMO Upgrade & Migration, and Post-processing on the Migrated System
If HANA migration is in your roadmap for your current SAP environments (not new implementation), then they would likely fit into one of three scenarios below:

SAP OS DB Migration scenario 1 has been around the longest so we thought we would migrate our lab BW 7.5 on ASE to HANA to provide an overview for those planning similar efforts.
- Part 1 documents the collection of references and Preparation steps to make ready the BW system for both upgrade (e.g. Support Pack update) and migration.
- Part 2 will cover Upgrade and Migration: the SAP migration tools have improved and we'll be using the appropriate version of SAP SUM (Software Update Manager) with DMO (Database Migration Option) to perform both the upgrade and migration in one downtime.
- Part 3 will wrap up with the Post-processing on the migrated system
